Use a large sheet of paper, or smaller sheets of paper stuck together – how ever big you like – you can draw shapes, letters, names, fruit or body parts, whatever interests your child and mix them up on your sheet of paper (if you’re not a great drawer you could print off images). Once you have created your board you can start making the pairs – post-it notes are great for this – draw or stick the identical images to the post-it notes and let your child match them to the images on the board. You can tape the board to the wall if you want to encourage standing or simply lay it on the floor. You can change it up depending on the needs of your child. You can even make it a competition giving the same number of pairs to each child.
