One player is picked to be the guesser and that person turns their back on all the other players. The guesser throws the ball over their shoulder and back towards everyone else. When the ball is thrown back towards the other players, one player has to catch it or pick it up. Then, all the players put their hands behind their back, so the guesser doesn’t know who has the ball.
The guesser then turns around and shouts:
‘Oyez, Oyez, who’s got the ball?
Are they short, or are they tall?
Are they hairy, or are they bald?’
To which everyone else replies:
‘You don’t know because you don’t have the ball!’
The guesser’s job is to guess who has the ball by a process of elimination. They can ask three questions to narrow down who has the ball, for example, is someone with brown hair holding the ball, if someone with brown hair is holding the ball everyone without brown hair sits down. If the person with the ball is last to be picked, they become the new guesser. This should be played with a soft ball.
